Paper Crafts Publications

Recently I've had two cards published for the first time in Paper Crafts. The first one is in the November/December 2010 edition. This card was based on one of the sketch calls. It's quite amazing to see your own work in print still.

Another Paper Crafts TOOT!

This morning I received some happy mail from Paper Crafts Magazine that they would like to publish another card that I submitted for their latest call. It's going to be a special publication called Card Creations: Favorite Occasions. This issue will go on sale on November 16th, 2010. I'm very stoked to have another card accepted.

Right now we have a two week break from school, which is much needed. Renee's has an extended holiday, as she's been ill all this week with a very nasty cold. Let's hope she recovers fully soon. Valentine's Day...

...that's the movie my friend Beth and her daughter Lauren, Rebecca and I will be seeing this morning.

As promised I would show you my Valentine's album, which is created for Papercrafts Inspirations' February 2010 issue. Two weeks ago I received my copy of the magazine and I was overwhelmed with the way they managed to feature the album. It's a three page spread. I struggled a little to take good pictures, but I think they did a marvellous job. It even had a tiny picture of it on the front cover!

Scrapbook Magazine Publication

No, not any of my publications... but my fabulous SIL. I received the latest Scrapbook Magazine in the post today and I was delighted to see my children inside. It was great surprise and thought Ingrid did an amazing job on the layouts. So, I had to share...

Besides Ingrid's layouts there are a ton of other fabulous creations in the magazine. If you would like to see any of those I'm afraid you will have to purchase the magazine yourself.

Scrapbook Inspirations Issue 60

On November 13th the last issue of Scrapbook Inspirations was out. Due to low sales the publishing company has decided to stop printing after the December issue. For this issue Shimelle asked me to create a Christmas layout and then lift that into a matching card. Here's the article from the magazine:

Jillibean Soup Guest Designer + Scrapbook Inspirations 58

This morning I received an email from Ingrid congratulating me on being chosen as one of the guest designers for Jillibean Soup. I was excited to read her email as I had not yet discovered that I had been chosen. Congratulations to all the other girls as well of course! Here's the full list:



The deadline to send in your creations was last Friday. It wasn't until the day before that I sat down and created a layout and two cards. I created two cards using Jillibean's Grandma's Christmas Soup.

Then I created a layout using Jillibean's Lentil Soup. The tag underneath the picture slides out and has the following journaling on it: Today you are celebrating your eleventh birthday. Not quite a teenager yet, but hormones are most definitely raging. You're having mood swings, you transpire more & little lumps are starting to appear in your breasts. Brace yourself for more and bigger changes. Live life to the full!!

Not all the projects needed to be new or created using Jillibean Soup products, so I chose to send in a layout I did for Scrapbook Inspirations 58, which was out last Friday. The assignment was to make a layout using lace.

Cards Only (Un)Published Cards

In the last three issues of the Dutch magazine Cards Only some of my cards that I've submitted have been published. I've already showed you the ones from issue 6. Now that issue 8 is on the shelves, I can show you the ones that were published in issue 7.

The following three are all created using My Mind's Eye 'Bloom' line:

There are a further three cards published in issue 8, but I won't be able to show you these yet. However, I can show you the cards that I submitted that didn't make it to print.

Beyond issue 8 of Cards Only you will no longer see any of my cards published in Cards Only as I've decided not to submit anymore cards. It simply was not satisfying enough to continue doing it.

Tomorrow, myself and the children are off to Holland for two and a half weeks to visit my family. We'll be visiting my brother and Ingrid on Saturday, before they depart on their holiday. While I'm gone, I'll still be posting a couple of cards I've created this week.
