Kazan's Sketch 10

I'm really having a hard time to keep with the time at the moment. The weeks go by so quickly. Another Monday, with once again a great sketch from Kazan at 2S4Y:

Not to mention another great prize for being card of the week. I really had to think a couple of days to see what I wanted to do with the sketch. I used a clear card last week. I had a little accident with the first one. As I was scoring it, and wanted to fold it in half it snapped. For this week's sketch I used one half of the clear card to put behind the openings and added rub-ons on top.

Supplies: cardstock - Bazzill Basics, PPs - KaiserCraft, embossing folder - Cuttlebug, bling swirl - Prima Marketing, ribbon - local haberdashery, epoxy stickers - Creative Imaginations, red marker, rub-ons - American Crafts.

Now let's see what you create with Kazan's sketch and you might be card of the week. Happy Monday!

Laura's Sketch 9

Hello Monday! Week after week 2S4Y is getting more and more exciting. This week's sponsor is Short Cuts. Not only will the card of the week win a price this week, but also the Fab 5 will all receive some of their clear cards.

The design team was asked to create something using one of the clear cards. They are so much fun to work with. Here's what Laura's sketch looks like:

And this is the card I created using the sketch:

Supplies used: cardstock - Bazzill Basics, PPs - Scenic Route, journaling sheet - Making Memories, chipboard - Maya Road, ribbon - Maya Road, clear stamps - Fancy Pants and Autumn Leaves, flower - Prima Marketing, pearls - KaiserCraft, ink - VersaColor and Staz'On.

Why don't you have a go a creating one. Of course you don't have to use a clear card, but it will give it that special touch. In case you don't have a clear card, you can always just use a transparency for now.

Thank You's

Rebecca's birthday was almost one month ago already, but I still needed to make Thank You cards. This morning I had the inspiration and energy to make them. They are ultimately simple. All I needed was two pieces of cardstock, two sheets of patterned paper, a stamp, ink and lace. Et voila:

Supplies: cardstock - Bazzill Basics, PPs - Yellow Little Bicycle, lace - John Lewis, clear stamp - Melissa Frances, ink - Staz'On.

I'll be back tomorrow.

Happy Birthday Maaike

Last week I needed to create a card for Maaike, who turned 8 yesterday. I made a simple card for her.

Supplies: cardstock - Bazzill Basics, PPs and chipboard die-cut - Heather Bailey for Autumn Leaves, lace - John Lewis, clear stamp - Autumn Leaves and Melissa Frances, ribbon - Basic Grey, flower - Prima Marketing - bling - MAMBI, ink - Stampin'Up, corner rounder punch - EK Success.

Thank you for stopping by, and I appreciate all your comments. I wish everyone a great weekend, it should be a good one over here, as the forecast is good (and we've already had 7 dry days in a row). I'll be back on Monday with my next card for 2S4Y.

Kazan's Sketch 9

Boy, oh boy where does he time go. Another week has flown by. I've managed to make a few more cards over the course of last week. I'll be posting them as birthdays pass.

Firstly, Kazan's next sketch over at 2S4Y is to keep your eye out for. If you get chosen card of the week, you will win a Scor-it. I didn't use a Scor-it to make my card, but Kazan and Ingrid did, and they both put a tutorial on their blog how to use it.

Here's what this week's sketch looks like:

And here's my card:

Supplies: cardstock - Bazzill Basics, PPs and die-cuts- SEI, clear stamp - Heidi Swapp, ribbon - local haberdashery, ink - Stampin'Up.

Go check out 2S4Y to see the other design team members amazing work.

Another card I made is for David's brother, who is celebrating his birthday today. I really struggled with this one, but pushed through in the end.

Supplies: cardstock - Bazzill Basics, PPs and die-cuts - Sassafras, ribbon - Vandoros, button - Spotlight.

I'll be back in a couple of days.

Laura's Sketch 8

My last post was one week ago with Kazan's sketch, which basically sums up my week as far as scrapbooking is concerned. We did have a very hectic week though. After Beth and I spent the weekend in Holland, we had one day to prepare the house, as on Tuesday through Thursday our shipment from Australia was being delivered. Normally it all gets delivered straight from the container in one day, but as it needed to go into storage for a week, due to our Paris trip, it took three days and 4 trucks. With receiving boxes and furniture spread out over three days, we didn't know what was being delivered on what day, which meant that we had to hold onto our rental furniture until everything was delivered. You wouldn't believe how full the was.

Long story short, I had to actually schedule time Friday evening to make my card for this week's sketch made by Laura at 2S4Y. It's another great sketch. This is my take on it:

Supplies: cardstock - Bazzill, PPs and die cut - Basic Grey, ribbon - Vandoros, rub-ons - Crate Paper, metal hinge - 7Gypsies, lace - John Lewis.

The best thing about last week, we're sleeping in our own beds again after two months!!

Kazan's Sketch 8

Another week has come and gone, which means time for another sketch over at 2S4Y. The reason why I love this site so much, is because it's so inspiring and challenging. This weeks card of the week will win a kit from Created with Paper.

Here's what Kazan's sketch looks like:

My first reaction was: 'This one is hard', but somehow when I sat down and chosen the papers it came naturally. This is what my card looks like:

Supplies: cardstock - Bazzill Basics, PPs - Sassafras, flowers - Prima, bling - KaiserCraft, rub-on - Crate Paper, alpha felt letter stickers - American Crafts, ribbon - local haberdashery.

Why don't you have a go and see if you can be card of the week.

Here's to you

I showed you the card I made form my brother yesterday for his 40th. On Saturday they celebrated the occasion. Beth and I flew to Holland early Saturday morning to attend the party. I only took a few pictures, but I'm quite pleased with those I did take, so I thought I'd share a few.
