Forty

Today is the day my brother saw the light of day 40 years ago. Yesterday and today I'm in Holland to celebrate that significant event. Quite a while ago I already made his birthday card, as I wanted to make sure I had one just in case something would have gone wrong with the shipments.

Eric, happy birthday! I hope life's giving you what you've hoped for so far. I love you.

Supplies: cardstock - Bazzill, ribbon - Spotlight, PP - Chatterbox, thickers - American Crafts, rub-on - MME, button - Spotlight, edge scissors - Fiskars.

This should be the last of pre-posted posts. Until next time.

{Love}

The Summer months are always busy for anniversary cards. Today Dave and Gina are celebrating their 11th anniversary too. Eleven years ago, the day after their wedding, we had just left David's mum's house driving home, when we were stunned by the news on the radio that Lady Di had died, after that horrific car accident in France. Something else, you'll never forget.

Here's the card I used to scraplift Rebecca's card:

Supplies: cardstock - Bazzill, PPs - Making Memories, Creative Imaginations, overlay - Hambly, thickers - American Crafts, ribbon - Be Inspired (Australia), clear stamp - Autumn Leaves, corner rounder - EK Success.

I'm still pre-posting my cards, as we came home from Paris yesterday afternoon and early this morning I was on a plane to Amsterdam to visit my brother and SIL, Eric and Ingrid, who will be having a party celebrating their 40th birthday.

Have a great weekend.

Today, René and Jacqueline are celebrating their 12th anniversary. Congratulations and many happy returns guys! Here's the card I made for them:

Supplies: cardstock - Bazzill, PPs - Scenic Route, Creative Imaginations, ribbon - haberdashery, clear stamp - Autumn Leaves, bling hearts - Art Store, epoxy heart - Making Memories.

Have a nice weekend everyone! I'll be back tomorrow with another anniversary card, which was the inspiration for Rebecca's birthday card.

10

Today our little (but yet not so little anymore) girl, Rebecca is turning 10. I can still so vividly remember giving birth to her... 3 weeks early, due to pre-eclampsia. Yet she was 3125 grams and 51 cm. Meanwhile she's passed the 140 cm and is seriously starting to have hormonal fluctuations. Nonetheless I love you to bits Rebecca and I hope you'll have a great day in Disneyland with us.

I left making her card right up until the last minute and actually scraplifted one of my own cards, which I will be publishing on Saturday as I lacked fresh inspiration. If you look closely, it also resembles this sketch. As Rebecca's favourite colour is blue, it had to be that colour:

Supplies: cardstock - Bazzill, PPs - October Afternoon, Thickers - American Crafts, ribbon - haberdashery, clear stamp - Autumn Leaves, blinkg - KaiserCraft, flower punch - EK Success, corner punch - EK Success.

HAPPY, Happy Birthday, Rebecca!

I created this post before we departed to Disneyland on Sunday. If I get time and internet access, I'll try and post some pictures from Paris. Have a great day!

It's your day

The daughter of one of my Dutch friends is celebrating her 4th birthday today. Congratulations, Mette. I hope you'll have a fun filled day. I made this card when I was still in Australia, but I think with the glitter and sugar pink, it's perfect for a little girl.

Supplies: cardstock and paper frill - Doodlebug, PPs - MME, SEI and Scenic Route, brad - Bazzill, ribbon - Spotlight, tag - newsagent, stamp - Melissa Frances, clear stamp - Technique Tuesday, bling - KaiserCraft, staples.

I'll be back tomorrow with another post.

Disney Magic

Just a quick note from all of us from EuroDisney in Paris where we are feeling the magic at the moment. It's always great to be here.

Have a great week. I have some more scheduled posts coming later this week. Stay tuned!

Laura's Sketch 7

It's already my third card that I've made for 2S4Y as a DT member and I must say they are so easy and enjoyable to make. For this week's card I used all but one supplies from Studio Calico's August Add-on kit Raspberry Truffle.

Supplies: cardstock - Bazzill, PPs - SEI, chipboard letters - American Crafts, felt flowers - Heidi Swapp, journaling spot - Hambly, brads - Creative Café, teal sequins, paper lace - don't know the brand, but it's and Australian one.

Happy Monday!

A few things to share

Today I've got not one, but three cards to share.

The second one is for Alan and Gill, who are celebrating their 11th anniversary today. Cheers to you.

And lastly, I finally had a chance to play with Ingrid's bonus sketch this week over at 2S4Y. I went for some goldie oldie papers.

Supplies: cardstock - Bazzill, PPs - Scenic Route, ribbon - local haberdashery, clear stamp - Autumn Leaves, pin - Fancy Pants, ink - VersaColor and Staz'On, bling - KaiserCraft.

Thanks again, for all your lovely comments on my latest creations. I'll tell you, my hands and mind are itching to make some more mini albums and LOs. Next week we'll be in Disneyland Paris celebrating Rebecca's 10th birthday and the week after our shipment will be delivered. I can't wait to receive all my other scrapbooking supplies. So, hopefully it won't be too long before I can start creating those things again.

Enjoy the rest of your weekend.

Claire

My good friend Claire is celebrating her birthday today. She's actually on holiday in Turkey at the moment, so I hope you'll have a lovely day. For this card, I used Laura's Sketch 4 from 2 Sketches 4 You. With the move, I wasn't able to play along with this one, therefore I decided to use it now.

Supplies: cardstock - Bazzill, PPs and letter stickers - Scenic Route, flower - Prima Marketing and Doodlebug, brad - Making Memories, ink - VersaColor, punch - corner rounder, ribbon - Paperchase.

Until next time.

Kazan's Sketch 7

Monday might normally speaking not be the best day of the week, but when it comes to 2S4Y it's a ball. Another sketch to play with. And as I'm posting my card, already seven people have created their card today. Quite amazing is you ask me. No need to be first, you've got all week to play along if you like.

This is what Kazan's sketch looks like:

Instead of using an oblong card, I used a square one. This is what it turned out to be:

Supplies: carstock - Bazzill, PPs, die cut and ribbon - Making Memories, pin - Fancy Pants, clear stamp 'love' - Technique Tuesday, butterfly punch - Martha Stewart, ink - Ranger's distress ink and Stampin'Up.

Besides the weekly sketch, there's also a bonus sketch this week, created by DT member and my SIL, Ingrid. It's a beautiful sketch, which I will definitely have a go at later this week, as I already created four cards today (which are all to be revealed at a later date). Stay tuned!

Laura's Sketch 6

It's Monday again, time for a new sketch at 2S4Y.

This week's sketch is from Laura and here's what I made:

Supplies: cardstock - Bazzill, PPs - Basic Grey, ribbon - Basic Grey, flower - Prima, die cuts - Basic Grey, bling - KaiserCraft, clear stamp - Melissa Frances, ink - VersaColor and VersaMark, brad - Basic Grey, rubber stamping wheel - Stampin'Up, embossing powder - StampWorld.

Hopefully you'll be inspired to create your card along Laura's sketch.

Happy Bday Amelia

Yesterday we celebrated Amelia's, our little niece, 4th birthday, but her actual birthday is today. Her mum asked to give her money, so instead of putting it in an envelope, I stuck coins onto paper flowers.

I apologise for the bad quality picture, but my camera is in repair and I have to use Rebecca's camera at the moment.

Supplies: straws - Sainsbury's, PPs and letter stickers - Sassafras, punches - Marvy Uchida and EK Success, staples, 3-D dimensionals - Stampin'Up.

This is the card I made for Amelia:

Supplies: carstock - Bazzill, PPs- Scenic Route, ribbon - local haberdashery, letter stickers - Pink Paislee, ink - VersColor.

I hope you all had a great weekend. Be sure to check back tomorrow for my second 2S4Y DT card.

3-D with only 3 Supplies

As I mentioned in one of my previous posts I was hoping to be able to play a little as I had a nice idea for a card. It did not turn out the way I had in mind, but it was kind of fun to have a go. I felt that I didn't have all the right tools to make it, so I save it for when all my other supplies turn up. One thing that I did do, is making a raised frame. The card is quite simple, but funky. See for yourself:

Supplies: cardstock - Bazzill Basics, PPs - Autumn Leaves (Heather Bailey), ink - VersaColor.

I made another card, but can't reveal that one until Saturday.

Yesterday and today I've spent most of my time painting. We've been in our new house since July 7th and we've finally made a start on sprucing up the place. Last week I painted the kitchen in duck egg (blue) and ivory. Yesterday I started on Renee's room with cotton white and had to get into Ruben's room as well, since the wardrobe fitter was starting today. Today I finished the white in Renee's room and did one coat of peony pink. I also made a start in Beth's (our Australian babysitter who came over with us for 4 months) room as the wardrobe man will be moving in there tomorrow. To sum it all up, we've got 4 rooms half painted and as you can imagine all of it is in a mess. I think it's time for a break tomorrow and create some more cards, as I've still got to do my card for next week's sketch for 2S4Y, and I've already got some ideas in my head.

Thank you for all your lovely comments, I'll pass them all on to Rebecca so she knows she's a good scrapbooker too.

Rebecca's Take on Kazan's Sketch 6

When I created my card last week for 2S4Y, Rebecca (my eldest) was so inspired, she wanted to make a card too. With a little help, she created this:

Supplies: cardstock - Bazzill, PPs - October Afternoon, flower - Prima, ribbons - local haberdashery, clear stamp - Melissa Frances, ink - Staz'On and VersaColor, brad - Doodlebug, circle punch - EK Success

Well done Rebecca, I'm proud of you.

My first 2S4Y DT Card

This morning Kazan posted the first DT cards on 2S4Y all based on her new sketch. Obviously we all made this card last week, after Kazan gave us the sketch, but the end results of all 6 DT members are so different, but yet all equally as beautiful. This is how mine turned out:

Supplies: cardstock - Bazzill, PPs Making Memories, bling - MAMBI, flower - Prima, pin - Fancy Pants, clear stamp - Heidi Swapp, ink - Staz'On, flower punch - EK Success

This is the sketch the card was based on.

Want to play along? Hop on over to 2S4Y, and get inspired by any of the DT members creations. I'd love to see what you'll come up with. I certainly enjoyed creating my first DT card.

P.S. We've finally got broadband!! So I can see everyone's pictures on their blogs again and I can update my Flickr account.

Seeing Stars

With our recent move across the globe, I've come somewhat prepared and already made a dozen cards or so before we left. So, don't think I'm making all these right now. In fact, right now I'm busy painting our kitchen, but I'm hoping I've got time to make some cards this weekend, as I've come up with a nice idea!

Anyway, today Sebastian is celebrating his 9th birthday and this is the card I made for him:

Supplies: cardstock - Bazzill Basics, PPs - Basic Grey, ric-rac ribbon - Maya Road, pin - Fancy Pants, button - Basic Grey, rub-on - Scenic Route, twine - ?, stars - Sizzix die cut, ink - VersaColor.

Well, it's almost midnight, time to give my pillow a hug. Thanks for all your lovely comments, I enjoy reading them. Have a nice weekend!
