Laura's Sketch 5

I've been making some cards on Monday evening and Tuesday morning, but haven't had time to post anything yet. In fact, I can only post one of the cards I made, as the other one is for next week's sketch of 2 Sketches 4 You, my first DT card. And the third one is for a friend who will be celebrating her birthday in about three weeks.

The one I will show you, is the one according to Laura's Sketch 5. I thought this one was a great sketch that screamed for a big ribbon. This is how it turned out:

Supplies: cardstock - Bazzill Basics, PPs - Sassafras, alpha stickers - American Crafts, ribbon - local haberdashery, ink - VersaColor.

I hope you feel inspired to make a card along Laura's sketch too.

Thanks very much for all your sweet comments on my first DT position. Enjoy the rest of your week.

A big TOOOOOOOT!

The reason why I couldn't show you the card I made for David for our anniversary last Saturday is because I used it as one of my cards to submit for the design team call for 2 Sketches 4 You. I thought is was pretty much a long shot, but Friday evening I received an email from Kazan and Laura, inviting me to their team for the next 3 months. I'm pretty excited and grateful that they picked me out of all the applications they received. The other amazing design team members are: Carla, Ingrid, Joke, Pamela and Ashild. As you can see, Ingrid, my SIL and I both made it on the team, which I'm thrilled about, but we didn't tell each other that we'd applied for it. So it was a nice surprise to learn we both made it on the team.

Well, this is the card I made for David:

Supplies: cardstock - Bazzill, PPs - Scenic, Making Memories and Collage Press, ribbon - Vandoros, button - Spotlight, pin - Fancy Pants, alpha stickers - Rebecca Sower for EK Success, journaling spot - Etsy store, bling - KaiserCraft.

Supplies: cardstock - Bazzill, PPs and chipboard letters- Heather Bailey for Autumn Leaves, clear stamp - Autumn Leaves, ink - VersaColor, felt - Polka Dot Whimsy kit, ribbon - Vandoros, circle punch - EK Success.

Enjoy the rest of your very warm and sticky (at least in London) Sunday!

Kazan's Sketch #5

Well, we finally got our phone connected today, but we still have to wait to get broadband. Nevertheless we can get online most of the time with our Vodafone USB stick.

On Wednesday evening I made a card following Kazan's Sketch 5. Even though I shipped quite a few things in the air shipment to scrap with, it's quite tough to work with what I've got. And it seems I didn't put in as many ribbons as I would have liked. Nevertheless, I'm quite pleased with the end result. Take a look yourself.

Supplies: cardstock - Bazzill, PPs - October Afternoon, chipboard frame - Maya Road, flower - October Afternoon, ink - VersaColor, Tim Holz Distress Ink, ribbon - Basic Grey, clear stamp - Melissa Frances, punch - Corner Rounder.

Yesterday, Jessica celebrated her birthday in Portland. Congratulations, Jess, I hope you've had a great day. This is the card I made for her:

Supplies: cardstock - Bazzill, PPs - Sassafras Lass, rubber stamp - Hero Arts, clear stamp - Melissa Frances, ink - VersaMark and Staz'On, flowers - Prima Marketing, buttons - SEI, Spotlight and MME, twine - local supermarket, punch - Fiskars, ribbon - Vandoros, pin - Fancy Pants.

And finally another Dutch friend Tineke is celebrating her birthday today. Happy Birthday, girlie, I hope you'll have a great party. Sorry I couldn't be there to celebrate with you.

Supplies: cardstock - Bazzill, PPs - Basic Grey, rubber stamp - Stamin' Up, tag - local newsagent, clear stamp - Basic Grey, embossing powder - StampWorld, ink - VersaMark, Staz'On, ribbon - Vandoros, transparancy - Hambly, punch - courner rounder, bling - Heidi Swapp, safety pin - from clothing tag.

Next week we'll hopefully also have permanent broadband. Have a great weekend and thanks for dropping by.

Double Anniversary

Today is our 11th anniversary. We both gave each other gifts to share. David bought me a JBL alarm clock, where you can plug in your iPod and I gave David a Heavenly Chocolate Workshop for two. Also, I got the most beautiful roses.

I cannot reveal my card yet that I created for David, but I can show you the masterpieces that Rebecca and Ruben made:

Besides it being our anniversary, it's also Phil and Claire's 11th anniversary. We met during our honeymoon and have been friends ever since. Every year, we go out for dinner together, at least during the years that we've lived in the UK. After having missed our 10th anniversary together last year, we are getting together again this evening for dinner at Chez Gerard's followed by Wicked in London. Happy anniversary guys, I look forward seeing each other again this evening. This is the card I made for them:

Supplies: cardstock - Bazzill, PPs - Scenic Route and Making Memories, clear stamps - Autumn Leaves, ink - Staz'On black and Tim Holz distress, ribbon - Vandoros, epoxy heart - Making Memories, butcher's twine - local supermarket, wax seal and wax - Be Inspired, punch - corner rounder.

Also, we received this gorgeous card made by Ingrid yesterday. It's absolutely stunning.

21 Years

Tomorrow it will be our anniversary, but today my BIL and SIL are celebrating their 21st anniversary. Congratulations guys! This is the card I made for them:

Supplies: cardstock - Bazzill Basics, PPs SEI, KI Memories, paperfrill - Doodlebug, ribbon - Vandoros, clear stamps - Autumn Leaves and Basic Grey, ink - VersaMark, Staz'On and VersaColor, embossing powder - StampWorld, punches - corner rounder, fiskars heart.

Thanks very much for all your lovely comments over the past two weeks, especially there were so many new people, I don't really know yet. I just wanted to let you know that I really appreciate them. When our broadband gets up and running, I'll come and visit your blogs (if you have one). Have a nice weekend!

Slowly but surely

Today we've been back in England exactly 2 weeks and we have yet to get our telephone connected. It's unbelievable how much BT has screwed this up, as David ordered the line weeks before we even left Australia. I spare you the details, but it's simply frustrating. Right now, we are dependent on a Vodafone mobile USB. Which works, but is by far perfect.

On a more positive note, we received our air shipment on Thursday, which means I have my trusty iMac again and access to all my pictures. This means I can share a few cards with you of birthdays that have past in the last week.

This first card was for my friend Gill, who only lives a couple of minutes away now:

Forgive me for not mentioning supplies, as I'm drawing a blank at the moment. I do know however, that I used this sketch to create this card.

And this one was for a niece:

Supplies: cardstock - Doodlebug, PPs - SEI, flowers - Prima, foam alphas - American Crafts, ribbon - Vandoros, bling - MAMBI.

This week I'm also planning to create a few cards, as it will be our anniversary next Saturday.

Thanks for checking in.

Still Here

Just thought I let you know I'm still here. We've been exactly one week in England. The weather has been quite nice and we've been staying at my MIL's house. We received the keys to our new house on Thursday and had it cleaned yesterday. Monday temporary furniture will be delivered to bridge the time before our shipment arrives from Australia. Hopefully my computer will arrive sometime next week, which means I can start posting and creating again (as it also contains some of my scrapbooking supplies). I'll leave you with a picture of our new home:

Enjoy the rest of your weekend!
