2Peas User Spotlight + Wisley

Yesterday I received an email from 2Peas Garden Girl Moon, asking whether she could highlight my work on the Garden Girl blog. Tickled pink and totally honoured I of course couldn't deny her request. You can see her post on the 2Peas site here. By the way I love Moon's style as well and am very pleased to have discovered her blog.

Several weeks ago, before I dived into the Twilight books I started a double layout that laid stagnant on my desk until today. It was finally time to clear my head and get on with it.

This is the whole spread:

Thank you for all your lovely comments. It does mean a lot to me.

Happy Father's Day + Hello Summer!

Happy Father's Day to all the dads! We treated David to breakfast in bed this morning. This afternoon we are going to see Transformers at the cinema. While David was away on his trip around the world I did a little photo shoot with the children. I had this fun idea and they were totally up for it. They each wore one of David's shirts while rummaging around on the bed. With the pictures done so early I relaxed and let it come to last Friday to put the album together. In my head I'd already made 10 different mini albums, but nothing could pull me over to actually start on it.

So Friday was the day. Whether I liked it or not, it had to come together that day. I'd already decided on what papers to use as soon as I purchased them, and I didn't steer away from that. In an impulse I went for a little 4" x 4" album from Maya Road. Here's how it turned out:

Supplies: Maya Road 4"x4" chipboard album | My Mind's Eye Andrea Victoria patterned paper + die-cuts | Papertrey Ink clear stamps Fancy Flourishes | American Crafts chipboard alphabet stickers | button | ribbon | Fiskars Uppercrest border punch | EK Success mini alphabet stickers | Staz'On ink Jet Black.

Supplies: as above | EK Success Scalloped Scallop border punch | Spotlight button | ribbon | baker's twine

Supplies: as above | buttons | Jillybean Soup journaling sprouts | font Aphrodite | digital brushes Katie Pertiet

Renee accidentally wrote her text upside down, but I decided to not risk trying to correct it.

Supplies: as above | digital brushes Rhonna Farrer

Rebecca drew a picture of David and wrote: 'You are hansome'

Supplies: as above | Bazzill Basics Cardstock | Martha Stewart border punch | ribbon

Ruben drew a picture of David and himself wearing a Liverpool kit. This because David used to support Liverpool, even though Ruben support Manchester United.

Renee drew a picture of David and herself having a cuddle on the brown sofa.

Supplies: as above | Basic Grey chipboard numbers

For my dad I made this card:

Supplies: as above | Making Memories mini alphabet stickers | buttons Sei | American Crafts chipboard alphabet stickers | Banana Frog clear stamps Stars | VersaColor ink

Did you notice I put the letter 'h' together using a 'n' and a 'l'?

Besides it being Father's Day today it's also the first official day of Summer and the longest day. It will be interesting to see what Summer we'll be having this year as last year's was basically non existent.

Enjoy your Sunday!

For our nephew

I am slowly but surely resurfacing from the world of the supernatural. I can tell you I've been bitten badly by the Twilight saga bug. I am suffering from severe withdrawal symptoms. Only good that David came home this morning. So nice!

I did learn some interesting facts about the movie:
  • Robert Pattinson who plays Edward Cullen is British (I did wonder about his non American accent in the movie).
  • The Cullen's house in the movie is owned by a Nike executive. Might have to probe my friend to find out who's it is (before becoming a SAHM I worked at Nike for 7 1/2 years).
Anyhoo... I did make a card on Monday for our nephew who is celebrating his birthday today.

Supplies: Bazzill Basics Cardstock | Making Memories 'Just Chillin' patterned paper + chipboard die-cut + ribbon | Hero Arts stars rubber background stamp | VersaMark ink | Papertrey Ink clear stamp | Staz'On ink Timber brown | VersaColor ink Umber | Fiskars Uppercrest border punch | Sizzix star die-cut| machine sewing.

Thanks for stopping by.

Got Sketch? - Sketch 86

Did you miss me? Since my last blog update on Saturday I have not done any scrapbooking. Yes, you guessed. I've read! I'm totally amazed at how addictive these books are. I've finished Twilight, the second book New Moon and now I'm two thirds into the third book. Only good there's only four books. I've also watched the movie twice, but it doesn't do the book justice if you ask me.

Nevertheless, I did create a card last week for the Got Sketch? Blog. This time it's sketch 86.

Supplies: Bazzill Basics Cardstock | October Afternoon patterned papers | Making Memories ribbon | KaiserCraft pearls | American Crafts foam Thickers | Martha Stewart heart punch | Fiskars Uppercrest border punch | Spellbinder Nestabilities butterfly punch | EK Success corner rounder punch

You might have noticed Ingrid's debut over at Got Sketch? as well. And how coincidental that we've both used the same papers to create our card. Great minds think alike!

Well, I'm off... to read (of course)!

hb2u + A confession

This afternoon Rebecca had a birthday party of a friend in her class. She only found out on Wedneday that the party was on, so we were a bit short of time to buy a present. Instead I sewed another one of my pocket cards, this time a bit larger.

Supplies: Bazzill Basics Cardstock | Papertrey Ink patterned paper | Paperchase tissue paper | button | ribbon local haberdashery | American Crafts naked chipboard alphabet stickers | twine | Fiskars Apron Lace border punch | Cuttlebug Swiss Dots embossing folder | Basic Grey clear stamp | VersaColor ink | EK Success corner rounder | Martha Stewart heart punch | KaiserCraft pearl | machine sewing | Spellbinder Nestabilities Blossom.

And then onto the confession. I'm not a fan of reading. It's not that I don't like reading, there's just always something else I'd rather be doing and my mind always drifts on other things when I'm trying to read. But this is different. I'm totally sucked into Twilight. I started reading last week a page a day, but David's traveling for two weeks at the moment and now I can read in bed before I go to sleep. I so {heart} this book. Any opportunity I got today I read. And guess what I'll be doing when I've published this post. You got it!

Always and Forever

A little while ago, my friend Beth in Australia asked me whether I could make a wedding card for her friend who's getting married this month. I've been thinking about it for weeks, but never actually created anything. Yesterday I finally sat down and started creating. By dinner time I hadn't made much progress yet. Once the kids were in bed I told myself I had to finish it before going to bed. Around 11.00 p.m. I decided that it was done.

A close-up:

Supplies: Bazzill Basics Cardstock | Making Memories 'Love Notes' Patterned Paper + sticker | Banafrog clear stamp | Rangers embossing glitter | Paperchase ribbon | VersaColor ink | Fancy Pants pin | Papertrey Ink clear stamp | Martha Stewart borderpunch | Spotlight button

It certainly wasn't the fastest card I've made. Now, let's hope she'll like it.

Laura's Sketch 27

Good afternoon from a sweltering Epsom. It's still quite comfortable inside though. I've just finished my card along Laura's sketch 27, which kicks-off the Ultimate Card Showdown. It will run all through the month of June. As the weather is hot, I decided to make a Summery card (and I was desperate to use my Hibiscus Sizzix die, lol).

Supplies: Bazzill Basics Cardstock | SEI 'Mimosa' patterned paper | SheetLoad Shortcuts clear card | Martha Stewart border punch | Sizzix Die Hibiscus | ribbon | My Mind's Eye button | Hero Arts clear stamps Great Flourish | Staz'On ink Jet Black | baker's twine

Make sure you stop by 2S4Y and play along as you could make it to the Top 30 and advance to the next level. Make sure you read all the rules to ensure your card is eligible for entry. Have fun!

Baby A. + Two unpubbed cards

This afternoon I went to photograph baby A. She is only 12 days old and so petite. She was very restless and really only wanted to be held by her mummy, until it was time to go pick-up the kids from school when she was completely spaced out. I wasn't on my best form either, but this is my favourite shot:

I'm not going to share any more, as I didn't ask her permission to publish them.

I have shown you my published cards from Cards Only 6 over the last week, but there were also two cards I submitted which didn't get published:

Supplies: Bazzill Basics Cardstock kraft | October Afternoon Night Light patterned paper | Autumn Leaves Talking in Circles 2 clear stamp | VersaColor ink Neptune + Pinecone | Spotlight buttons | Ellison Design Stars #2 die | ribbon

Supplies: Bazzill Basics Cardstock | Basic Grey Bittersweet patterned paper + chipboard + button | Autumn Leaves Gypsy Style 2 clear stamp | Cuttlebug embossing folder | Stampin’Up ink chocolate | Fiskars Water Treading border punch | American Crafts LAX alphabet glitter stickers | Spellbinder Nestabilities Labels one | Karen Foster floss | Vandoros ribbon

Finally, don't forget to stop by 2S4Y as today is the kick-off of their 1st Annual Ultimate Card Showdown, with lots of prizes to be won. You don't want to miss it.

Have a great week!

For my Mother-in-Law

Today my mother-in-law was celebrating her birthday. We had a ton of things to prepare, as we were out all day yesterday and my dad was here during the week while the kids were having a week off school. It also meant that I still had to make a card as well. Under a lot of pressure, here's what I came up with:

Supplies: Bazzill Basics Cardstock | Webster's Pages patterned paper and die-cuts | ribbon local haberdashery | My Mind's Eye button | Papertrey Ink clear stamp Damask Designs | Staz'On ink Timber Brown.

Get your creative thinking caps on, because tomorrow is the big reveal of the 1st Annual Card Showdown over at 2S4Y. I'll meet you there!
