Sheetload Shortcuts Week 1

It's Friday and my first project as Guest Artist of Sheetload Shortcuts. For my first creation I was asked to make something using the July '09 sketch from Sheetload of Cards. At the same time Shortcuts has teamed up with Caardvarks using the same sketch. If you would like to play along head on over to their site and submit your creation by July 17th. For this sketch I chose to make a gift card holder:

Supplies: Sheetload Shortcuts GCHF| Making Memories patterned paper + chipboard die-cuts | ribbon | Fiskars star punch + decorative edge scissors | American Crafts foam alphabet Thickers |

Have a great weekend and thanks for stopping by.

Sheetload Shortcuts July Guest Artist + Past Weekend Parties

Some of you might have already seen this post, but this month I'll be guest designer over at Sheetload Shortcuts. My creations will be posted on their blog starting this Friday for the next 4 weeks. I hope you'll enjoy them.

This past weekend both Ruben and Renee had a party to attend to. I made this card for Ruben's friend:

Supplies: Bazzill Basics Cardstock | Cosmo Cricket patterned paper + chipboard die-cuts + ribbon | Papertrey Ink clear stamps | Fiskars Uppercrest border punch | Kikki.K white marker | Sizzix star die | Staz'On ink Timber Brown.

I also made a gift card holder for him, but you'll have to wait until Friday to see it (hint! ;)).

Renee had her party yesterday for two of her classmates. This is what I made for them:

Supplies: Bazzill Bascis Cardstock | My Mind's Eye patterned paper | Paperchase ribbon | Fiskars Apron Lace border punch | Staz'On ink Timber Brown | Papertrey Ink clear stamps | Jilly Bean sprouts | KaiserCraft flowers + pearls | buttons | Spellbinder Nestabilities scallop die | Basic Grey clear stamp | Martha Stewart butterfly punch | ZIG marker brown | EK Success border punch Scalloped Scallops | Prima Marketing flowers.

I really struggled to find the right inspiration for the cards, but I was quite pleased with the outcome of the gift card holders.

I'll be back tomorrow with another card.

Gift Card Holder Folder

Back in January when I was over for a weekend in Holland, Ingrid gave me some gift card holder folders to try out (thank you, SIL). I imagined them being larger than they actually are. They measure only 4 1/4"x3" and are very cute. I wanted to play along with Ingrid's challenge a few weeks ago, but just didn't seem to find the time.

This weekend Rebecca is having two sleepover parties back-to-back. This evening she's sleeping at a classmates house. I bought her a gift card for GAME, so this was the perfect opportunity to create one. I used Kazan's sketch 17 as inspiration.

Supplies: SheetLoad ShortCuts GCHF | Cosmo Cricket Patterned Paper + chipboard die-cut element| American Crafts Patterned Paper | ribbon local haberdashery | brads | twine | Hero Arts clear stamp | Staz'On ink Timber Brown.

Wishing everyone a very good weekend.
