Final Two

Last night I made my last Thank You card and today, while the men were breathing down my neck whether they could pack my stuff already, I made my very last card. I told the men to wait until tomorrow with packing my things, as I'll be packing my air shipment box this evening. Right now I'm just taking a break. Here are my cards:

Well, I think this will be it from me for a while. I will still be posting during the next two months as I managed to make about a dozen of cards ahead of time, but I'll be without my beloved iMac for approximately 2 weeks. Next time I'll be posting will be from English soil.

Thank You's

At the moment I'm working on the last few cards, before everything gets packed away. I want to make a thank you card for each of the children's teachers and one for my friend. I've already done 2 Thank You's, so I've got 2 more to do. This evening and tomorrow are really the only days left to finish it, as the packers will invade our house as of tomorrow.

Besides the cards that I wanted to make, Ruben promised his teacher he (or rather I) would make a Puffel (apparently that's what you call them?). Not did he only promise one to his teacher, he also promised one to their swimming instructor. So, of course Rebecca wanted one for her teacher too. And it seems Ruben has a soft spot for Sophie (she's in his class) and said she would get one too. Right now I've made 4 in total, and I possibly cannot leave out Renee's Kinder teacher. I did tell Ruben, that if anyone else would ask, the anser would be 'no'. We have simply no more time. Anyway, here's what they look like:

In the past two years, Lynne and her husband have cleaned our house on a weekly basis. Yesterday, would have been the last time before our move. Happy Father's Day

Happy Father's Day to all dads. You might want to pass this one on, as I don't think many dads will be reading this, lol. I spoke to my dad last night and he did receive the card, but not the album. Hopefully it will turn up on Monday or Tuesday.

This is the card I made for him. I'm really into scalloped circles at the moment, can you tell?

For the mini album I used a Kolo album. I wasn't very creative with the front, but it was also hard to stick things on as it was fabric. Hopefully the inside has made up for it. Take a look yourself:

And finally very, very last minute I made a scrapbook page/book/card. Not sure what to call it, but I have been meaning to make something like this for a long time, being inspired by this amazing girl. Considering I only spent a few hours on it yesterday, I'm very pleased with the result.

I hope you'll all have a great Father's Day. We got to enjoy David a few hours longer than planned, as Qantas rung to tell that his flight was delayed until 6.00 p.m. after he'd just left, so he walked back in 20 minutes later.

Stampin'Up Party and RAK

This afternoon I had my Stampin'Up party. It was really fun, we did two projects. The first one was with stamps, crayons and coloured inks. Not something I have done before and probably not something I would do in the future, but kids would really love this. In fact Rebecca already used it on her Father's Day project this evening.



The next project was a card with a folder. These stamps I really loved, and I ended up ordering this stamp set as well. The other thing I was really impressed with was the quality and brightness of the inks. I've ordered a couple of those too, one of them is real red, which I used on the second project.



All supplies are from Stampin'Up.

With the size of my order (uhum), I received a free catalogue , but I've already got one. So, I've decided to give mine away. Even if you cannot get any of the Stampin'Up products in your country it's a great inspiration, as there are many samples in there. Leave a comment before Friday (June 20th) afternoon and I will draw a winner on Saturday morning.

It will be Father's Day tomorrow and I've sent off my dad's card and gift album earlier this week. I'm hoping he will have received it in time, otherwise he'll get a virtual look at it first, as I will reveal it tomorrow. However, it's not Father's Day in Australia tomorrow, that won't be until the first Sunday in September. And as we'll be leaving Australia in two weeks, this would mean David wouldn't have a Father's Day this year. Tough! Well, actually we decided to celebrate it tomorrow as well. It wasn't until today that I started on my project (whatever that was going to be, as I hadn't decided yet), mainly because there was a chance David would have to fly to England this evening, as he was waitlisted on the Sunday afternoon flight. Luckily he managed to get on the Sunday flight, so we've got him home at least in the morning. I finished my project and the good thing is, you'll only have to wait until tomorrow to see it.

So, I'll see you tomorrow?

My Own Sketch

This afternoon I made a card using my own sketch
to make a thank you card. Initially I wanted to do something else, but when I cut out the flowers it just all fell into place. Apologies for the bad light, as I took this picture this evening.

Jump Rope

Last month on May 9th, Australia did an attempt to break the world record skipping, which was currently held by the United Kingdom who broke the record in 2006 (in which Ruben's school back then took part in as well). In the UK 7,500 children participated in 2006, in Australia more than 60,000 skipped their way to the new world record.

Rebecca's picture ended up being in the local newspaper, the Progress Leader. Although you can only see her back, I ordered the picture, which turned up today.

I had been playing with some Sassafras papers this morning, creating two cards (which I won't be showing you for a while), so I decided to scrap the picture using Sassafras papers as well. I included the text from the article that appeared in the newspaper.

Even though all the die cuts were self adhesive, I used some dimensionals on some of them to add some depth.

Cards are generally associated with 'happy' occassions, but of course sometimes it is also necessary to make and write cards for other reasons.
