Deconstructed Sketch No. 75

I played today. I created a card along the Deconstructed Sketch No. 75. I don't play along with these challenges as often anymore, but I sometimes still do, but never seem to get it on my blog. This time I actually got my camera out straight away, so I can show you what I've created.

Supplies: Cardstock: Papertrey Ink | Patterned Paper + Die-cut number + Snowflake: Pink Paislee (City Sidewalks collection) | Clear Stamps: Papertrey Ink (Stylish Sentiments: Holidays) | Ink: Stampin'Up (Lucky Limeade) + Papertrey Ink (Chai) | Marker: Staedler | Dies: Papertrey Ink (Mat Stack 4, Medium Scallop Border) | Ribbon: The Ribbon Man

This is my first Christmas card this year.

Got Sketch 107

Got Sketch 107 is well and truly gone... in fact Valerie is already half way through her next online class Got Sketch Express 3. In case you've never taken any of Valerie's classes, you should really consider it if you have a desire to get some layouts done. Got Sketch 107 was an eight week long class, with one sketch a week, but GSE3 is half the time and gives you eight sketches plus two extended ones. For GS107 I wasn't able to do all the sketches as we were on holiday during the Easter break. Out of the eight sketches I made six layouts and three cards. Ready for lots of pictures? Here we go...

It's not too late to join in with GSE3 if you would like to have ten more opportunities to create a layout (or card). See you there!

Papertrey Ink 5th Anniversary Contest: Day 2

I'm sure the whole world knows. Well, the whole stamping world at least... Papertrey Ink is celebrating its 5th Anniversary this month and is giving away some amazing prizes.

Today's challenge was to create a card using one of the printable freebies designed by the Papertrey Ink designers. I chose Dawn's printable as I loved the font. I'm a sucker for pretty fonts which made it an obvious choice.

Here's what I created.

And a little detail.

Supplies: Cardstock: Papertrey Ink (Raspberry Fizz) | Patterned Paper: Echo Park (Country Drive) | Dies: Papertrey Ink (Limitless Layers, Mat Stack 4, Buttoned Up) | Lace: Local craftstore Spotlight | Ribbon: Vandoros | Ink: Brilliance (Moonlight White) | Twine: The Twinery

I initially tried to keep the card a bit a more ton-sur-ton, but felt it needed a good splash of colour. Echo Park's Country Drive is great for this as it's got vibrant colours and great geometric patterns that work so well together. It really fires up the Raspberry Fizz even more (if that is even possible).

It's nice to see you all again.

Sending You Birthday Wishes

Today my niece, Fleur who lives in Holland is celebrating her 11th birthday. We won't be there to celebrate her birthday with her, but we'll see them very soon when we're visiting family and friends in England and the Netherlands.

I know my card arrived on Saturday, which isn't always that easy as the post seems to always take a bit longer at this time of year. Happy Birthday Fleur, I hope you have a wonderful day. I will call you later today on Skype.

Supplies: Cardstock: Papertrey Ink (Cream) | Patterned Paper: Crate Paper (Random Collection) | Ribbon: Vandoros + Twine (The Twinery) | Circle Punches: EK Success + Fiskars | Butterfly Die: Sizzix exclusively for Stampin'Up | Clear Stamps: Papertrey Ink (Sending You) | Ink: Stampin'Up (Chocolate Chip) | Buttons

And here are some detail shots.

In case you've missed I posted a blog post earlier today on how to make your own Christmas art here. Enjoy your Monday!

Got Sketch Catch-Up Three

If you would go with what I've posted on my blog, you would think I'm not up to much. In fact, it's quite the opposite. Three's a charm, so here's another Got Sketch? blog catch-up.

Here's sketch 128

Sketch 129, which was also featured on the Scrapbooks Etc. blog here.

Sketch 130: I absolutely love this line from October Afternoon and have already created several things using this collection.

Sketch 131: This one was also featured on Scrapbooks Etc. blog here. I wasn't very with how this turned out and I might revisit this sketch in the future.
