Got Sketch? 108

Today the card I created for Got Sketch? 108 was published. Valerie's sketches are always very easy to interpret and this one proved to be no different.

For this card, I've used two papers that I haven't bought in a collection, but purely chose single sheets because of their pattern and colour. I finally decided it was time to use them and they actually complimented each other perfectly, even though I'd purchased them on different occasions.

Supplies: Cardstock: Bazzill Basics Paper, Papertrey Ink | Patterned Paper: Anna Griffin, Pink Paislee | Border Punch: Fiskars (Uppercrest) | Dies: Papertrey Ink (Mat Stack 1 + Banner Builder), Spellbinder Nestabilities (Circles + Scalloped Circles) | Pearls: KaiserCraft | Ribbon: Vandoros | Clear Stamps: Papertrey Ink (Everyday Treats + Enjoy the Ride) | Ink: Papertrey Ink (Hibiscus), VersaMark | Vellum | Embossing Powder.

Have a look at the gorgeous other creations on the Got Sketch? blog. Hope you feel inspired enough to create your own master piece.

Happy Birthday Honey!

Today my hubby is celebrating the BIG 40! Congratulations, David... I hope you have a fabulous day. Unfortunately I won't be able to give him a big kiss and cuddle as he's in Orlando at the moment. Myself and the children created a card for his birthday last week, so that he could take the cards with him and open them while he's halfway around the other side of the globe. This way he's got a little piece of us with him.

Supplies: Cardstock: Bazzill Basics Cardstock (kraft) | Patterned Paper: October Afternoon (Seaside) | Alphabet Stickers: American Crafts | Clear Stamps: Studio Calico (numbers), Papertrey Ink (Enjoy the Ride) | Dies: Papertrey Ink (star, banner) | Button | Twine | Ink: VersaColor (Neptune)

I just spoke to him on the phone, as he's just woken up. He said he didn't get any sleep, because despite the fact he put his phone on silent, it was still vibrating on the table all night because lots of people were trying to get hold of him to wish him a happy birthday. Hopefully he'll be able to catch up on some sleep on his journey home, so he can celebrate with us on Sunday. We love you!

Got Sketch? 107

Last week I received an email from Valerie asking if I wanted to contribute to the next card sketch for the Got Sketch? blog, which will be posted next week. I always love doing cards, and was happy to join in. I took the opportunity to ask Valerie if I could also create a layout for one of her other sketches, as I've really neglected making layouts last year. This would be a great chance to kickstart this year. Valerie sent me a sketch almost immediately.

So no more excuses to not make a layout anymore. I got busy with sketch 107 yesterday (since the weekend was to nice after a week of rain to be indoors):

Supplies: Cardstock Bazzill Basics (cream) | Patterned Paper: October Afternoon (Seaside Collection) | Alphabet Stickers: American Crafts | Clear Stamps + Dies: Papertrey Ink (Banner Builder) | Ink: VersaColor (Neptune), Papertrey Ink: Pure Poppy | Font: Avenir | Marker: Steadler (blue)

It felt good finally creating a layout again. Hop over to the Got Sketch? blog to see the sketch and what the other designers have created.

Thank you for your visit.

Wishing You all the Best

You probably have already heard the news that with great sadness 2 Sketches 4 You is stopping. They have provided us with the most gorgeous and easy to adapt sketches over the past two years. I was on their very first design team back in Fall 2008, and thoroughly enjoyed creating along their sketches.

For their very last sketch Laura and Kazan asked all the current and past designers to contribute. As usual it was a breeze. I'm sure their trusty 2S4Y weekly sketch will be missed, but don't fret as they will keep all their past sketches available. So next time you're looking for some inspiration, you can always visit and choose from one of their previous sketches.

I wish Laura and Kazan good luck and success with their new endeavours. Here's my card based on Kazan's sketch:

Supplies: Cardstock: Bazzill Basics Paper | Patterned Paper: October Afternoon (The Thrift Shop) | Clear Stamp: Papertrey Ink (YOF Sweet Peas + Vintage Labels)  | Butterfly + Border Punch: Martha Stewart | Button | Ribbon | Thread | Rhinestones: KaiserCraft | Ink: Staz'On (Jet Black), Papertrey Ink (Chamomile)

I'll be back soon with a layout.
