Cards Galore

By far July, August and September are the busiest months for birthdays and anniversaries between our families and friends. I'm trying to get ahead of the game a little bit and want to make all the cards for August already and the start of September. Between now and the middle of September there are 6 children's birthdays, 3 adult birthdays, 4 anniversaries. On top of that friends are moving from the UK to Holland and my cousin had a baby boy. That's a grand total of 15! Today I've created 4. I've done a scraplift of one of Ingrid's cards. Thanks for the inspiration!

Back Into It

I promised myself at the start of the year that fitness would be first, but when I got hit with a strange virus in April which effected my joints, it stopped and never started again. However, looking back I felt much more energetic the first three months of the year than the past four. So, today I finally went running again and it feels so good. I'll leave you with a LO I made in February.

Three Today

Two weeks after the digital scrapbooking course has finished it will all be locked down, that means participants have three more days to share their work and their thoughts. Therefore I decided that I would do one last digital LO as this was another free template we received during the course. This template is by Jen Caputo from Scrapbook Graphics.

To create the LO is used a digital scrapbooking kit by Mindy Terasawa called Pink Sonata.

Trip Down Memory Lane

At the moment I'm really in the mood to scrap and I have lots of ideas. Today I created a LO using the June Boxx of Scraps Kit from Scrapboxx. Considering the nature of the papers it screamed for something old. I used a picture out of my baby book of my mum and I.

Products used from the kit: Carstock Bazzill, PP & Buttons Melissa Frances.
Other products: Rub-ons Hambly, DMC Thread, Heart Brad Queen & Co., Journaling Stamp Autumn Leaves, machine sewing, ink Tim Holtz & Versacolor, 'hapiness' stamp Hero Arts, florish stamp Fancy Pants, watermark ink Versamark, cirlce punch, Sizzix Die Cuts Alphabet Nouveau and marker.

Today I created a LO which I will be submitting to the international sketch challenge blog Pencil Lines. I created this LO using all supplies from Cocoa Daisy's July Kit "Sunkissed", with the exception of the Autumn Leaves Date stamp.

This is the LO that you were meant to follow:

Materials used: Cardstock Bazzill, PP SEI, Scenic Route, Sassafras Lass and Deja Views, Brads Deja Views, Ribbon American Crafts, Date Stamp Autumn Leaves, Alpha Stickers Scenic Route, Rub-on Luxe Design.

Quickest LO Ever

It seems I did get a little hooked on digital scrapbooking too. One of the many freebies we got during Jessica Sprague's Up & Running with Photoshop Course was a quick page from Katie Pertiet. It was done in 5 minutes. All I did was added a picture, a title and a tag with the date. Oh, and I also recoloured the tag. Et voila!

Pirate

It feels good to be cutting again and have sticky fingers from the qlue after doing my digital scrapbooking course. Last night I started on a new LO. The picture I took practicing with my new lens that David had brought back for me from NYC. Today I finished the LO.

Products used: cardstock Bazzill, PP Basic Grey, My Mind's Eye and Scenic Route, large red flower Petaloo, jewels and date stamp Heidi Swapp, chipboard Fancy Pants, journaling block Hambly's, alpabet stamps Technique Tuesday, swirl stamp Autumn Leaves, digital picture frame, black pain Making Memories, ribbon, black and white ink Staz'On, watermark ink Versamark, clear embossing powder, permanent marker, transparency.

My Last Mid-Week Assignment 4

Today I finished my last Mid-Week Assignment for my digital scrapbooking course. In this assignment you learnt how to make a trapezoid shape. Everything else was up to you. I've used Jessica's Festa Mini Kit.

I also got tagged by Ingrid for being a Rockin' Girl Blogger. I'm very flattered. I'm meant to nominate 5 others, but I'm not such an avid blog reader (yet), and those I do read I think are all nominated already...

Up & Running with Photoshop - Week 4

Yesterday I started on Week 4 of Jessica's scrapbooking course. I did the final touches today. It's incredible how easy she all makes it. Just one more Mid-Week Assignment and then I'm finished. I must say my hands are itching to get back into paper scrapping, because I spent enough time on the computer already, so it's nice to get away from it and do something creative with more than a click of the mouse.

Mid-Week Assignment Week 3

I'm still playing catch-up with my Up & Running Course with Photoshop by Jessica Sprague. Even though the course has only got 4 fully structured lessons, but Jessica also gives Mid-Week Assignments. For week 3's Mid-Week Assignment we got to digital templates by Jen Caputo and Shelly Greninger. I chose Jen's template and created this LO.

To create this LO I used a digital kit from Mindy Terasawa called Flutter Butter available from Designer Digitals.

My First Photo Swap

I'm so excited... this is my first photo swap. This morning I picked up Ingrid's LO from the post office that she made for me. It's absolutely gorgeous! I know Ingrid had already received the LO I made for her with a picture of Sanne. The picture that I sent to Ingrid is of myself and Renee on her 3rd birthday. The size we scrapped is 8.5x11".

Materials I used for Ingrid's LO: Cardstock Bazzill, PP DCWV and KI Memories, Scalloped Ribbon Rustic Pickle, Button Foof-a-La, Hambly's Journaling Spot, Making Memories letters 'enjoy', American Crafts Letter 'S', Green Ribbon Maya Road and Doodlebug paper frills.

Meet the Family

On April 29th we did a photo shoot at Verve Portraits in Melbourne. We reviewed the pictures on May 10th and ordered 1 picture size 100cm x 40 cm and 4 pictures 40cm x 40cm. Today we went to pick them up. We're very pleased with the results.

10 Years

Today David and I are celebrating our 10 years anniversary. Here's the card I made for him.

Some of the materials used: Cardstock Bazzill, PP KI Memories, Rub-ons Scrapworks & Basic Grey, Prima Heart Brad, Chipboard 'love' Fancy Pants, Making Memories Paint. The pictures I have taken from the proof sheets of own wedding. This is us 10 years on... (with credit to our inhouse photographer Renee (3)).

As we've just indulged ourselves with a luxury holiday, we decided to not buy any gifts. However, David did buy me a big bunch of flowers with pink roses, lilies and blue irises, which reminds me a little bit of Holland.

Besides scrapbooking I also enjoy photography, so when I got my gorgeous flowers I had a little play with my 60mm macro lens.

CHA Summer '07 Sneaks

Ingrid was wondering in her blog entry on June 28th whether anyone had seen any sneaks from CHA. This morning I was surfing the web and found a huge number of sneaks on The Scrap Spot. So if you had not stumbled on any sneaks yet, there's enough to tickle your senses. My top 3: the Fancy Pants felt shapes, Sei Papers and Picture It Acrylic Albums. What are your favourites?

Sneak Peek Card

Today the pressure was on. I'm still trying to catch-up with the washing from the holiday, but at the same time I had to do a few scrap projects of which one was a card for my DH for our 10 year anniversary tomorrow. I left it until the last day, but I already had an idea in my head. I'll leave you with a sneak peek today and I will show the whole card tomorrow.

Up & Running with Photoshop - Week 3

On June 18th I started the Up & Running with Photoshop (Elements) Course by Jessica Sprague. The course was for four weeks, of which, due to our holiday, I would be away for the last two. However, the course material is available forever. Today I created the LO for lesson 3. I must say, that I much prefer paper scrapbooking, but I thought it was good to get to a more comfortable level with Photoshop and learn all those valuable shortcuts. On top of that you get tons of freebies, and have the opportunity to share thoughts and ideas with nearly 250 other participants. The course is already finished, but she will be starting another one on August 20th.

My Second Site

Since the end of April, I've been debating what to do about my blog that I've been keeping since last November. I write a daily blog in both Dutch and English and use iWeb to create it. Also, it's not a public site. In April I started to experience major problems publishing and at wits' end I decided to start from scratch. However, as my love for scrapbooking keeps growing and the people currently reading my blog, with the exception of my sister-in-law Ingrid, are not into scrapbooking. So, as of today I'm spreading my wings and will be sharing my creations here.
Yesterday we got back from our holiday in Queensland and today I already made two cards for two Dutch friends Tineke and Jessica, who will both be celebrating their birthday next week.

Some of the products used: Bazzill Cardstock, PP Artwarehouse, Maya Road Chipboard Scroll, Foof-a-La Buttons, AudDesign 'Happy Birthday' stamp, Heidi Swapp 'enjoy' stamp.
